Making plant parenting less scary
Hello Plant Co. sell houseplants online to people who have, historically, killed a cactus. They wanted the shop to feel like a friend with very green fingers.
The problem
People loved the plants and froze at the checkout. The care guides were written for botanists, and the inbox filled up with one question: will this one die on me?
The process
We rebuilt the shop in Framer around nerves rather than Latin names. Three changes did most of the work:
A “How brave are you?” filter in place of plant families.
Care cards written like dating profiles.
A tiny confetti moment for every new adoption.
Plant of the week lives in the CMS, so Lena changes it herself, straight from her phone.
The result
Returns dropped, reviews went up and the “Beginner’s Luck” bundle became the shop’s best seller. The inbox is calmer too.
